Burschenverien, a German word which comes from Burschen and Verien have the following meaning. Burschen means boys, guys or simply a lad. Verein on the other have means group, society or organization. I tried to look for the meaning of this word but I cannot find it in my translator..So what I did is look for the word one by one..So I could say, Burschenverein simply means Society of Boys or Boys Organization.
Hohenfels had a Burschenverien Feast last Friday till Sunday..so that was July 11-13, 2008, last weekend. The highlight of the feast was the parade last Sunday where different Burschenverein or groups from different nearby places in Hohenfels participated. Please see photos of the participants below..
Sunday morning was raining so hard..thanks God that during the parade in the afternoon, the rain stopped already. Of course, a feast in Germany is always coupled with Beers and food too. Inside the tent where some bands played every night had really lots of fun and partying. Music were played and people were dancing to the tunes!! such fun and excitement.
We went there last Sunday after the parade..My husband had 2 mugs of beer and I just enjoy watching the people partying around!!
