Today I am sharing photos about The Befreiungshalle in Kellheim.

The Befreiungshalle ("Hall of Liberation") is an historical classical monument upon Mount Michelsberg above the city of Kelheim in Bavaria, Germany. It stands upstream of Regensburg on the river Danube at the confluence of the Danube and the Altmühl, i.e. the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal.

HISTORY

King Ludwig I of Bavaria ordered the Befreiungshalle to be built in order to commemorate the victories against Napoleon during the Wars of Liberation that lasted from 1813 to 1815. The construction was started in 1842 by Friedrich von Gärtner in a mixture of classical and Christian styles. At the behest of the King, Leo von Klenze altered the plans and completed the building in 1863. The ceremonial opening took place on October 18, 1863 - the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Nations (Völkerschlacht) near Leipzig.

The following dictum by King Ludwig I, embedded into the marble floor, commemorates the occasion of the construction of the Befreiungshalle:

MOECHTEN
DIE TEUTSCHEN
NIE VERGESSEN WAS
DEN BEFREIUNGSKAMPF
NOTHWENDIG MACHTE
UND WODURCH SIE
GESIEGT.

won.)

Frankfurt am Main, Germany

have you been to Frankfurt? If not these are some of the pictures I have during our visit to this financial capital of Germany last 2008.
the skycrapers in Frankfurt..can't remember the exact name of this street.
taken at the Haupt Bahnhof or main train station in Frankfurt.

A Church where we happened to pass-by.

Frankfurt am Main is the largest city in the German state of Hesse and the fifth-largest city in Germany, with a 2007 population of 667,598. The urban area had an estimated population of 2.26 million in 2001. The city is at the centre of the larger Frankfurt Rhine Main Region which has a population of 5.3 million and is Germany's second largest metropolitan area.

Situated on the River Main, Frankfurt is the financial and transportation centre of Germany and one of the two largest financial centres in continental Europe, the other being Paris. It is the place of residence of the European Central Bank, the German Federal Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Trade Fair, as well as several large commercial banks. Frankfurt International Airport is one of the world's busiest airports, Frankfurt Central Station is one of the largest terminal stations in Europe, and the Frankfurter Kreuz (Autobahn interchange) is the most heavily used interchange in continental Europe. Frankfurt is the only German city listed as one of ten Alpha world cities.

Among English speakers the city is commonly known simply as "Frankfurt", though Germans occasionally call it by its full name when it is necessary to distinguish it from the other (significantly smaller) Frankfurt in the German state of Brandenburg, known as Frankfurt (Oder). It is also called Frankfort-on-the-Main in English, a translation of Frankfurt am Main. wikipedia

Nürnberg, Germany

Nürnberg or commonly known as Nuremberg in English is one of the visited cities in Germany. It is very famous of its Christkindlemarkt (Christmas Market) which is held around the end of November until Dec. 24 (not so sure but I think so..will rasearch it later)..I had been to this city not only ten time. If I get bored sometimes, I even go walking here alone, do shopping, picture taking, eat in my favorite Chinese restaurant or just simply enjoying the sightseeing.

We were also here last Saturday with friends. We had lots of fun walking around and shopping too!! I am sharing to you some photos I had last Dec. 2007 as me and my husband went their during the Chriskindlemarkt. I will share some more photos and infos about Nuremberg next time....see yah folks!! thanks for visiting!!

Nuremberg Castle is located on a sandstone rock in the north of the historical city of Nuremberg, Germany. It comprises three parts: the Emperor's buildings ("Kaiserburg"), the mostly built buildings of the rulers of Nuremberg ("Burggrafenburg"), and the buildings on the eastern side ("städtische Burganlage"). The castle was damaged in the Second World War but then reconstructed; today it is one of the main landmarks in Nuremberg. courtesy of Wikipedia.

as we were going down from the castle.it's freezing cold here..
photo I took as we where on top of the Castle. You can see here the view of the city

Nuremberg (German: Nürnberg ['nʏɐ̯nbεɐ̯k]) is a city in the German state of Bavaria, in the administrative region of Middle Franconia. It is situated on the Pegnitz river and the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal and is Franconia's largest city. It is located about 170 kilometres north of Munich, at 49.27° N 11.5° E. Population (as of 01/2006) is 500,132.

From 1050 to 1571, the city expanded and rose dramatically in importance due to its location on key trade routes. It is often referred to as having been the 'unofficial capital' of the Holy Roman Emperor, particularly because Reichstage (Imperial Diets) and courts met at Nuremberg Castle. The Diets of Nuremberg were an important part of the administrative structure of the empire. In 1219 Nuremberg became an Imperial Free City under Emperor Frederick II. Nuremberg soon became, with Augsburg, one of the two great trade centers on the route from Italy to Northern Europe. In 1298, the Jews of the town were accused of having desecrated the host and 698 were slain in one of the many Rintfleisch Massacres. Behind the massacre in 1298 was also the desire to combine the northern and southern parts of the city, which were divided by the Pegnitz River. Jews had been settled in that flood-prone area, but as the city leaders realized, this center of town was crucial to its future development. Hence, the Jewish population had to be removed. This area is now the place of the City Market, Frauenkirche and Rathaus (City Hall).

Most Important Law in Germany

I decided to post this one too in this blog since it is also related about Germany!!here it is!!

I just want to share one of the most important Law in Germany. I believed this is good to share especially to those persons who live in Germany whether you are a German citizen or not. In my own opinion, as long as you live in this country, you must also respect and follow the German Laws especially the basic ones.

As I made my German Oath of Citizenship, I was given a Book entitled "Grundgesetz für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland". This means in English "The Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany".
I am specifically sharing below Basic Right which is stated in page 111 of this Book.
The first basic law of Germany is this;

I. DIE GRUNDRECHTE

Artikel 1

(1) Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar. Sie zu achten und zu schützen ist Verpflichtung aller staatlichen Gewalt.

Below is the translation of this right in English;

I. Basic Rights

Article 1 [Human dignity]

(1) Human dignity shall be inviolable. To respect and protect it shall be the duty of all state authority.

I believed this law is very clear stating that we must respect the honour and dignity of a person. Not doing so will violate the above basic law. I believed, it is not only Germany who have this kind of law but all countries around the world who believed in the rights and protection of its people. Even Philippines have the same basic law.

For those who cannot stop their tongues in telling other people's life and affair especially by not telling the truth and does damages the personality of a certain person, You don't have the right to do that especially if you really don't know that person. "makakarma din kayo or baka dumating na nga ang karma sa inyo". You don't have the right to destroy other people's life.

So please "LEARN TO HOLD YOUR TONGUE ABOUT THE LIFE AND AFFAIR OF OTHERS UNLESS YOUR DUTY OBLIGE YOU TO SPEAK". Pero kung magtsitsismis ka naman , please naman yung totoo at purong katotohanan... Huwag yung kasinungalingan!!!

By legal means, the law will oblige you to speak for the Truth. So just be ready to depend for the Truth and don't tell lies!! Truth hurts but it is the only means to set us free. I am not afraid to tell the Truth and I will defend for it especially if my own honour and reputation are at risk. "Hindi ko talaga yan mapapalampas"

"THE BEST DEFENSE IS SIMPLY TRUTH"....I remember this saying that I copied now from one of my friend's website...sorry friend but I need this saying now..leave a message in your tag board to ask for permission!!! thanks!!

I hope what I share here now will serve as a lesson to all especially to those people who don't can hold their tongues. "Kung wala man kayong masabing maganda, itikom na lang ninyo ang mga bunganga nyo lalo't ang sinasabi nyo ay pawang kasinungalingan lang!!!! Pahabol pa, bago kayo magsalita ng kung ano-ano sa ibang tao, tingnan nyo muna ang sarili nyo!!! Perpekto ba kayo????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

have a nice evening to all!!
