Our Beautiful Church in Hohenfels, Germany

that's the Church Organ with the blue paint above. This is where usually the choir stays during mass. I love this Church....photo by Euroangel

Every time I lit candles in our beautiful Church in Hohenfels, I really can't stop taking pictures of the monuments, ceiling and fresco inside especially if I bring my camera with me. This Church is one of a kind. This is already a century old church and was built back in 1721.

That's all for today..hope to post here most photos, so you can have ideas how beautiful Germany is!!

Riding a Train in Germany

Riding a train in Germany is quite very easy and convenient. I usually ride in the train if I go to some far cities here. It is because, I also don't want to have the stress and hassle in driving especially in the traffic in the city. I just want to give you a reminder when riding a train in Germany. Be sure to always have your train ticket and keep it always ready for the inspector. If ever you will be caught without having a ticket, you will pay a fine of at least 40.00 Euros. It depends on the situation. Sometimes you will pay more and will be reported to the police too. Just be very careful!!

Riding the train is not so bad. All you just do is sit down and watch the beautiful scenery of the nature outside especially if you are in the state of Bavaria. Sometimes, it is even cheaper to ride the train than driving. Gas prices is getting high in Germany. Last Wednesday, I filled-up my car until it is full tank and it is quite expensive because Super Unleaded is now 1.479 euro per liter. Sometimes it is even 1.549 per liter...

I would suggest riding train is better and stress-free!! that's only a little info for today!!
thanks for visiting me here...keep coming back!! see yah later Folks!!

Füssen (Fuessen), Allgäu, Germany

Füssen, written in English as Fuessen is a small town in Allgäu (Allgaue).. I had here some days vacation last august 2006 with my husband. This place is especially good for travellers who want to be with nature..The mountains and hills like the Alps can be seen here. The green trees around are also very refreshing. I was really enchanted by the scenery and beauty of this town..Neuschwanstein Castle is just very near here!! if you want to travel Germany you can try to come here too..This place is also one of the tourist spots here in Bavaria, Germany!!! I have here some photos from our vacation last 2006..

Allgäu is a German region in the southwest of Bavaria also extending some kilometres into southeastern Baden-Württemberg. The region stretches from the prealpine lands up to the Alps. The main rivers flowing through the Allgäu are the Lech and Iller rivers.

It is sub-divided into the following regions:

Oberallgäu
Unterallgäu
Ostallgäu
Westallgäu

The area, famous for its beautiful landscape, is popular for vacations and convalescences. The alpine regions of Allgäu, which exceed 2,000 metres of altitude, offer good skiing facilities. The legendary Neuschwanstein castle is located in the eastern part of Allgäu. Despite its advantages, the land is not overcrowded by tourists.

Wuerzburg (Würzburg) , Germany

Würzburg (spell in English as Wuerzburg) is also one of Germany's oldest city. I went there with a friend, Liway last January of this year. It was lots of fun as we went walking in this easy...well, that was all day walking in the very cold freezing weather..As you see in the picture, I really wore a very good winter jacket so I won't get frozen. That is Germany in the winter time, it is really very cold. This city is also known as and administrative center.

Würzburg is also the capital of the German wine region Franconia which is famous for its mineralic dry white wines especially from the Silvaner grape.

Just take a look of the photos I have here for you to have an idea about the place..
happy Thursday..I will be signing off early today..just got some migraine again, I guess!!

thanks for visiting me here..keep reading as I will be posting here lots of interesting places and infos about my new home Germany...Tschuss!!

The Fortress Marienberg is the castle on a hill across the Old Main Bridge, overlooking the whole town area as well as the surrounding hills.

The Church of Our Lady (Marienkapelle)
I love this very nice Church here in Wuerzburg

Würzburg's Old Main Bridge was built 1473–1543 to replace the destroyed Romanesque bridge. It was adorned with well-known statues of saints about 1730.

here is a little info about this city...

Germany to boost atomic research

I guess it is worthy of sharing this news about Germany..I got this subscribed email from arcamax.com....here it is!! have a great day to all!!

by United Press International

BERLIN (UPI) -- The German government said it will increase funding for atomic research despite an agreement to phase out nuclear energy.

German Research Minister Annette Schavan said $22 million will be spent each year on nuclear safety, radiation protection and nuclear waste storage technology, Deutsche Welle reported Thursday.

The newspaper said the last German nuclear power plant is supposed to be shut down in 2020. Schavan said German scientists need to keep up with the latest nuclear research so they don't fall behind other countries.

"Our scientists must stay in the top league," Schavan told the Berliner Zeitung newspaper. "As long as everywhere around us new power plants are being built, we cannot afford to just sit back and invest nothing in nuclear safety and radiation protection."

More Photos on Neumarkt Volksfest

It's Volksfest time in Neumarkt..I always go here in Neumarkt to witness their yearly Volksfest also known in English as Funfair or simply Public Feast. Even the sky is quite dark last Friday, there were still lots of people, I guess even thousands who join and celebrate this yearly feast. I went around with my husband and had fun witnessing the different rides, stalls that sells food and drinks and never forget the big feast tent with tons of beer...

I love it here every year. Since 5 years of living in Germany, little by little I am already feeling home especially that I already used to the culture and tradition here. Being a German citizen now, I really have to adapt what is Germany and everything in it. It is a package deal...and I truly love this place...Ich liebe dieses leben!!

I have to sign-off slowly now...it's already dawn time!! Just wishing you all a great and blessed Sunday!!

hundreds of people were inside this tent during the first day of the Volksfest

I got this info from my dear consultant Wikipedia..thanks a lot Wiki for this very helpful info!!

FUNFAIR IN GERMANY

Most things said about British funfairs apply to Germany. Rides include roller coasters, dark rides and log flumes that often eclipse many theme park equivalents in terms of both size and quality.

The language of German showmen contains elements of Sintitikes, Rotwelsch, Yiddish and other old minority languages. Their children are almost always sent to a small set of showmen-friendly boarding schools where they can remain in contact with other showmen's children; during school holidays, they travel with their parents. In the west of the country, there is some overlap with Dutch showmen. A relatively small number of "showmen dynasties" run most of the medium- to large size amusement rides at funfairs around the country. There have been some allegations of forced marriages among them in recent years.

In Catholic areas of the country, it is still customary for most villages and small towns to hold their annual funfair on or near the saint's day of the patron saint of the local church.

Very common are the so called "Volksfeste", which are mainly held in the larger cities. They consist of a funfair and a beer festival at the same place. The largest and best known of them is the Oktoberfest in Munich. Another famous "Volksfest" is the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart.
