Travel and Explore Eremitage in Bayreuth, Bavaria

This is in connection to my previous post about our sightseeing in Bayreuth last Saturday, August 22, 2009. One of the palaces we visited there is Eremitage. This palace is one of the greatest historical architecture in Bayreuth and considered to be one of the best sights in this city. It also has beautiful parks and garden. Eremitage is consists of two palaces which is the Alte Schloss or Old Palace and the Neue Schloss also called in English as New Palace.

The Old Castle which you can see in the picture below had been built by Margrave Georg Wilhelm, 1715-1718, (two generations before Margravine Wilhelmine). Georg Wilhem wish to find here in this seclusion the way to wisdom and knowledge.

I hope to share more photos next time!

the front of the Old Castle and the fountain..I love their gardens here. Sometimes I dream that I once lived before in a castle…wink! That is probably the reason why I always love to visit palaces and castles…i’m only dreaming!
