Expensive Winter 2009-2010

Winter 2009-2010 is an expensive season in Germany. You know why? I heard over the news and also read in German newspapers that last winter is such an expensive one. It was snowing so hard in most part of Germany and the government has a lot of maintenance to do in the streets like spraying salt and pebbles and many others. Damaged streets caused by salt also need to be repaired. My husband also said that it is also expensive for us because we always need to turn on our pellet oven and electric heaters inside the house. We are now shopping for cheap new windows to change our old ones. Our windows are no longer so good sealed which is also the reason why the cold can come and stay inside very easily. Our door also need to be change. We visited a door hardware last Saturday to look for a quality door. Around two weeks one guy went to our house and introduced good doors and yes he said with good quality too. But you have to pay the price. Imagine for a quality door, made in Germany that cost from 3,000 to 5,000 Euros! That is a reason why we visited some hardware last Saturday to shop for cheap but quality door and windows. When these parts will be installed to our house before next winter comes, for sure we will also save some money.
