4300 years Old Human Relics Found in Barbing, Germany

What’s the latest news from Regensburg today? I read in Neumarkter Tagblatt this morning, a German newspaper in Neumarkt Upper Palatinate, Bavaria that archaeologists found a 4300 years old human relics in Barbing, a small town in Regensburg, Germany. We happened to pass this place this afternoon but we don’t have the chance to go there because we have some things to take care during our drive to Regensburg this afternoon. Here is the latest news from Regenburg.

Barbing warrior was a “heartthrob”

Fit, healthy and with immaculate teeth: The approximately 4300 years old soldier was a “handsome boy” from the upper class.

Regensburg. The young warrior, was excavated on Thursday in Barbing, “was a heartthrob. A kind of David Beckham of the Bell Beaker-time, “says Dr. Bernd Engelhardt, head of the State Conservation Office in Regensburg. “He was without doubt a handsome fellow, a noble youth, a kind of youthful hero – and he came from the highest social stratum of his time.”

During routine investigations on a construction site Barbing archaeologists had found the company ArcTron Altenthann from the intact and well preserved, about 4300 years old grave. The young man was under 21 years old with a white, immaculate teeth, but without wisdom teeth. He was probably fed fit, healthy and well – and he measured about 1.70 meters, which he dominated most of his contemporaries.

a picture I took of the shield this afternoon during our exit in Barbing from the Autobahn 3.

“The girls will probably have looked up to him,” said Dr. Engelhardt. “He should have had very nice clothes, of course, nothing is lost.” The dead man, the complete equipment of the Bell Beaker culture had to get into the grave: the bow and arrow, arrowheads, a repair kit, a Armschutzplatte for archers, and – sensational – is a copper dagger and a delicate ring of gold, he would have worn in the ear or in the hair.

The Beaker culture lasted about 2600-2200 BC and was called because of the receptacles in the form Beaker Sun Grave goods made of metal or gold are extremely rare.
