Landshut in Bavaria, Germany

The Ländtor, one of the gates in Landshut, Bavaria, Germany.

The first time I visited Landshut was last July 2009 during the celebration of the famous festival Landshuter Hochzeit or the Landshut Wedding. Landshut is a city in Bavaria situated on the banks of Isar River. It is the largest city in Lower Bavaria. I was amazed by the beauty especially of the Altstadt or old city. The Trausnitz Castle, Church of St. Martin and the Rathaus or City Hall are only some of the many sights in this city. I am sharing some pictures during our visit last 2009. It is time for me to slowly sign-off. Before that, I need to browse online about the best diet pill that works. Anyone who has an idea? I also wish you a lovely weekend! have fun and enjoy the summer time!

The old but beautifully shaped and colourful buildings in the Altstadt (Old City) of Landshut.

The city of Landshut and Trausnitz castle were founded in 1204 by Duke Louis I. Landshut was already a Wittelsbach residence by 1231, and in 1255, when the duchy of Bavaria was split in two, Landshut also became the capital of Lower Bavaria. Duke Henry XVI was the first of the three famous rich dukes who reigned Bayern-Landshut in the 15th century. The wedding of Duke George with the Polish Princess Royal Jadwiga Jagiellon in 1475 was celebrated in Landshut with one of the most splendid festivals of the Middle Ages (called “Landshuter Hochzeit”). After his death and the Landshut War of Succession, Bavaria-Landshut was reunited with Bavaria-Munich. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landshut
