The Landshuter Hochzeit 1475 in Landshut, Bavaria, Germany

The Landshuter Hochzeit 1475, commonly called in English as the Landshut Wedding Festival in 1475 is a historical wedding between Hedwig, the Polish King’s daughter, and George, the son of the Duke of Landshut. This festival is considered to be one of the largest historical festival not only in Germany but in Europe as well.

This event is held every four year. I believed I am lucky enough to witness the celebration last July 2009. It means that the next festival will be held on 2013. Here are some of the snapshots I took last July 2009.

You can see the participants of the said festival wearing beautiful medieval costumes…Everyone is carried away with mediaval jousting, pageantry, feasting and wedding processions…such a very interesting event!

I took this image posted in one of the shops in Landshut.

more that two thousand participants wearing medieval costumes bring backed this historical wedding event to life…I love it! It was truly a memorable trip to Landshut.

Landshut is a city in Bavaria in the south-east of Germany, belonging to both Eastern and Southern Bavaria. It is situated on the banks of the River Isar.
