Christmas Market in Nuremberg

The worldwide-famous Christkindlmarkt, Christkindlesmarkt or Christmas market in Germany is finally opened. This afternoon at 5:30 p.m., the Christmas Angel recited the solemn prologue from the gallery of the church of Our Lady, thus opening the market. It is held on the Main Market Square of this city.

There are about 180 wooden stalls in Nuremberg’s Christmas market. Typical Christmas articles and other arts and crafts products are sold again in the market. And of course, by way of refreshments, there are always rolls with Nuremberg roast sausages and mugs of mulled wine to keep you warm.

These were taken during our visit last December 2010. I hope I can visit it again this year.

Most of the Christmas markets in Germany are slowly opening now. This is one thing I love in this country. There are always celebrations all year round.

Please be careful with your personal belongings especially with your bags and wallets. My friend was pick-pocketed last year here in Nuremberg.
