Health Insurance and Medications in the United States

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

I can’t imagine how many millions of people in the United States are not covered by health insurance. Unlike in some countries in Europe like Germany, having a health insurance is a must. If you cannot afford one because you are jobless, you can still have it because of the social system in this country. In short, the German government will pay for you.

According to the United States Census Bureau in 2007, over 15% of its total population and that is 46 millions of Americans, were without health insurance for at least part of the year. Can you imagine that number? Sometimes when you are sick like having a cough or flu, you just need a medication and get it from the pharmacy.

There are ways on how to get special discounts when buying your medications. If you are a member of the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens you can always avail of their special discounts. For as low as $35.00 family annual membership, your immediate family including a spouse, dependents 22 and younger and pets are already covered with that amount. If you are a single individual, it only cost you $20.00 for the membership.

Other benefits include: Discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies, savings on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications and bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand products and photofinishing services.

Please spread the good news and stay updated by liking Walgreens on Facebook . Help sharing it by following Walgreens on Twitter. Join now and avail of their special discounts and promos. You will surely save some bucks once you are a member.
