Sizzling Zante

The Greek island of Zante has something of a split personality. Much of this sun-soaked holiday hotspot is given over to the type of secluded bays and rocky coves that you thought only existed on postcards, complete with cute little tavernas, authentic Greek cuisine and family days out. But head to Laganas and you’ll soon meet its devilish twin. It’s got the same drop-dead gorgeous beaches and classic seascapes, but that’s about where the similarities end.

Packed with back-to-back bars and world-class clubs, this beach resort is bursting with personality and the sort of clubbing scene that rivals the big guns of Ibiza. Zante clubbing holidays exploded onto the scene a few years ago and brought with it a cracking combination of pubs and clubs – where you can be rocking out to Queen in a cheesy 80s disco one minute, or clubbing to the latest tunes from the biggest names in clubland the next. It’s all about serious nights out that you’ll never want to end.

But on the island of Zante there’s also plenty of fun in the sun, thanks to those soaring Greece temperatures and scorching hot sun. Water sports, speedboat rides, volleyball, banana boats – it’s all here. And if you need to get away from the crowds to chill out, the five-mile stretch of golden sands means you’ll easily find a sunny sandy spot with your name on it.

Then it’s time for a few sundowners, a bite to eat, and you’re off to the famous Laganas strip for serious fun and to sample some of Zante’s cracking nightlife. It’s all about great nights out with like-minded company in some of Europe’s best and most buzzing venues. It’s no wonder that this is one of the busiest and most popular clubbing holiday destinations in the Med.
