Visit to the Christmas Market in Weimar, Thuringia

See how busy I am all the time!  I should be posting this article two months ago but my schedules prevent me from doing so. Did I already posted about my visit in Weimar?  Or maybe  I just forget to browse this album about my visit in Weimar’s Christmas   Market. Anyway, I had the chance to browse it awhile ago so I am sharing something about this event in this city.

Weimar people simply call it Weimarer Weinacht.  Just like any other Christmas markets in Germany in Europe, you can find stalls and tents  selling  various products from Christmas decorations  to handmade figurines, dolls, arts and crafts and many more. You can also taste local delicacies like Christmas cookies including Lebkuchen or  ginger bread,  drink a glass of hot mulled wine or try the  local sausages like the Thuringian grilled sausages.

I had a great time walking around the Old Town of Weimar especially in the market square where you can find the Christmas market. It is also held in Schillerstrasse and Theaterplatz.

Organ music and carol singing in the churches and market square add to the festive charm of this UNESCO World Heritage town.
