When the weather is slowly getting cold, it means that autumn season is around the corner. After this season comes winter. This is the time of the year where you can visit many interesting Christmas markets in Europe especially in Germany.
I am glad that I have been to some of the famous Weihnachtsmarkt, Christkindlesmarkt or other German names for this event. Among the few ones are in Nuremberg, Rothenburg od der Tauber, Regensburg, Weimar, Erfurt and more. I am planning to visit more this coming Christmas or holiday season.
I was able to visit Jena because I want to experience the Christmas market in this city. You can see stands and mounts in many kiosks and booths where the owners and vendors display their good and products. I always love going around to the Christmas markets. Sometimes, I also shop for Christmas decors.
Back to Jena, this city is also a historical one. It was first mentioned in an 1182 document. In the 11th century it was a possession of the lords of Lobdeburg but, in the following century, it developed into an independent market town with laws and magistrates of its own.
I glad that I was able to explore this city even just for a short time. It was indeed a nice fine winter when I visited this city!
