The Marienplatz in Munich

Even if you haven’t visited Munich yet, I believed many of you are very familiar about one of the most famous square in Munich. Marienplatz, also known as Mary’s Square or Our Lady’s Square. It is a central square in the city centre of Munich, Germany. It has been the city’s main square since 1158.

Everytime I visit Munich, I always go and pass -by to this area. No wonder tourists and visitors  can be found in this part of the city. There are just a lot to experience there including shopping, dining, sightseeing and more.

I have been to Bavaria’s capital many times but I still keep on coming back there. Ich  liebe München! I love Munich!

“The Mariensäule is a Marian column located on the Marienplatz in Munich, Germany. It was erected in 1638 to celebrate the end of Swedish occupation during the Thirty Years’ War and is topped by a golden statue of the Virgin Mary standing on a crescent moon as the Queen of Heaven, created in 1590.”
