Have you been to the largest Volksfest or festival in this world? It seems like last month when I visited the biggest festival in the planet. If my friend did not reminded me last Thursday that Oktoberfest will be starting today, I don’t have any idea about the exact date that it will start. This is the result of my busy life not trying to find out about this year’s Oktoberfest dates and programs.
This year’s celebration will takes place from September 19 to October 4.
I already visited Oktoberfest many times and I am always fascinated with this celebration. Honestly, I never tasted any beer during one of my visit but I only tried different local delicacies. Last weekend, I read an article online petitioning to stop the festival due to the many Muslim migrants/refugees coming to Germany the past weeks. Oh well, this is a culture in Bavaria and I know for sure, it will never be stopped. Besides, it will be your own will and decision to go there or not.
One of the things I love during this 16-day festival are the many fun and entertainments at the beer tents especially the live bands performing inside the tents. Just don’t ask me about mesa 2×12 being use there but I know for sure, they are using them everytime the musicians played their music. In one of my visits, I guess in 2009, we were able to go inside the many beer tents because we went there during week days. If you go there during weekends, you will surely don’t have the chance to go inside unless you reserved it or you are so early when going there.
Oktoberfest is not only l experiencing Bavaria’s culture and tradition but it is also the chance to meet locals, guests and visitors from all over the world enjoying and having fun!
I will see if I can visit it again this year.
