Last June 6, 2010 was the second meeting of the different old car owners in this town. You cannot see anyone selling ford accessories or any car accessories during the event here but we did met a person who wants to sell his old car.

You can also find some old types, styles and models of vehicles from bicycles to motorcycle, tractors, cars and a lot more. That was the first time where I saw a lot of historical cars of all forms and designs during this event. I also noticed that most of the owners of the historical vehicles are very proud of themselves in owning one. I wish I could own one of those historical cars in the future. Lastly, for those who are looking for any car accessories, feel free to click the link I have in this post. You can also visit Carid.com, an online automotive accessories superstore who is in business since 2003. They have all sorts of car accessories and automotive products to offer to its customers. Feel free to also browse my categories here for more images of the old cars taken during the Old timer event in Neumarkt.

The Perlach Tower in Augsburg in Bavaria, Germany

The Perlach Tower also called in German as Perlachturm is a 70-meter tower located in the central district of Augsburg in Bavaria, Germany. It is located near the Augsburger Rathaus or City Hall of Augsburg. It is originally built as a watchtower in the 10th century. In around 1200, the lower part was built and the middle in 1350. Elias Holl constructed the open bell story and crowned it with an Augsburg "onion tower" and a pine cone.
The 70-metre-tall Perlachturm is a tower in the central district of Augsburg, Germany. I have no idea either. Today we did had a rainy, sunny day. It means, it rained and comes sunshine again and vice versa. The good thing is, it is not very hot anymore and the flowers in our garden are happy to have some rain water. back to my main topic. A friend called me last Friday asking wear is the swimming pool in Burglengenfeld. I just googled the name Bulmare in Burglengenfeld and I did had the address immediately. It is located in Naabtalpark in this town. It is a very nice swimming pool both indoor and outdoor. I believed they are buying their swimming pool supplies in bulk especially during this summer season. The last time I visited this pool was sometime in 2008. Last year, we went to another swimming pool to cool down the hot summer. I cannot share an image this time from that pool because I don't want to show any image of me wearing a swimsuit.lol! have a great evening!

St. Jacob's Gate in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany

St. Jacob's gate is one of the old gates in Augsburg. It is a city in the south-west of Bavaria in Germany. It is known to be a called as a College town. It is also the second oldest city of Germany after Trier.

St. Jacob's gate is located some meters from the Fuggerei which is the world's oldest social housing complex still in work. It is a walled enclave within the city of Augsburg, Bavaria. It takes it name from the Fugger family and was founded in 1516 by Jacob Fugger the Younger (known as "Jacob Fugger the Rich") as a place where the needy citizens of Augsburg could be housed. By 1523, 52 houses had been built, and in the coming years the area expanded with various streets, small squares and a church. The gates were locked at night, so the Fuggerei was, in its own right, very similar to a small independent medieval town. It is still inhabited today, affording it the status of being the oldest social housing project in the world.

Below is an image taken during our visit last July 18, 2010. Germany won the third place during the Football World Cup in Africa last Saturday after beating Uruguay with a score of 3-2. That was a great play by the German football team. Some players like Lahm, Klose and Podolski were not able to play against Uruguay due to some health problems and injuries. Lastly for those who are looking for treatment for hemorrhoids, you can try to surf the net. For sure, you can find a lot of information about it. If not, I suggest that you better consult the professionals or simply visit your doctor. I normally want to share some images from the World Cup but I don't have good shots to share. Congratulations to Spain for being the champion. It is history for Spain because it is their first time to win over all. They deserved it! I even thought Netherlands will win.

Nuremberg City, A View from The Castle

These are old photographs I took from Nuremberg or Nürnberg (in German) last 2007. Me and hubby just had a very busy day today doing some little house renovation. It was quite an accomplishing one. I had an image here taken during our visit to a friend in Kaiserslautern in Rheinland Pfalz, Germany. They brought me inside the U.S. Base to have a buffet dinner in a Chinese restaurant. The name of the restaurant is China Town. I should take thermogenic fat burners everytime I eat buffet. It seems that it's been some months now that we did not go for a buffet in a Chinese restaurant. I guess it is better for me because I am trying to lose excess pounds. It is a town in the district of Ansbach of Mittelfranken (Middle Franconia), the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany, well known for its well-preserved medieval old town, a destination for tourists from around the world. In the Middle Ages, it was an Imperial Free City. I wondered why this town is called Christmas one. During my visit with good friends last January 2008, I knew the reason why. You can find and shop for Christmas decorations round the year in this town. It is the home of Käthe Wohlfahrt, a signature store and the Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas Village. Filled with handcrafted pieces celebrating the magic of Christmas and traditional German craftsmanship, this one-of-a-kind shop inspires joy and goodwill.

striking a pose at the Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas Village which thrills visitors with an illuminated, revolving Christmas tree and a larger-than-life Nutcracker King, the 13-foot sentinel who greets guests at the door.

The town hall of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.taken during our visit last Jan. 2008

The name "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" means, in German, "Red fortress above the Tauber". This is so because the town is located on a plateau overlooking the Tauber river. As to the name "Rothenburg", some say it comes from the German words Rot (Red) and Burg (burg, medieval fortified town), referring to the red colour of the roofs of the houses which overlook the river. The name may also refer to the process of retting ("rotten" in German) flax for linen production.

If I am not mistaken this is the entrance to the Klingentor. Landshut is a city in Bavaria situated on the banks of Isar River. It is the largest city in Lower Bavaria. I was amazed by the beauty especially of the Altstadt or old city. The Trausnitz Castle, Church of St. Martin and the Rathaus or City Hall are only some of the many sights in this city. I am sharing some pictures during our visit last 2009. It is time for me to slowly sign-off. Before that, I need to browse online about the best diet pill that works. Anyone who has an idea? Landshut was already a Wittelsbach residence by 1231, and in 1255, when the duchy of Bavaria was split in two, Landshut also became the capital of Lower Bavaria. Duke Henry XVI was the first of the three famous rich dukes who reigned Bayern-Landshut in the 15th century. The wedding of Duke George with the Polish Princess Royal Jadwiga Jagiellon in 1475 was celebrated in Landshut with one of the most splendid festivals of the Middle Ages (called "Landshuter Hochzeit"). After his death and the Landshut War of Succession, Bavaria-Landshut was reunited with Bavaria-Munich. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landshut

German Schweinebraten with Knoedel

I usually prepare German Schweineraten twice or thrice a month. It is a roasted pork meat in oven and I serve it with Knoedel or potato dumplings and vegetable salad. This is one of my favorite German delicacies. That is probably the reason why I already gained too much kilos since I live in Germany. Just kidding folks! I guess taking fat burners like apidexin might help me get rid of the fat I absorbed after eating this food. Hubby love this food also. I am even thinking of preparing one next weekend. It is situated on the river Naab, 22 km north of the World Heritage Site Regensburg. One of the sights of this town is the red 16th century Renaissance town hall and the bronze George Fountain. There is also a castle in this town which shows the signs of the late medieval installation. Burg Burglengenfeld stands on a hill and was built around in 15th century.

red 16th century Renaissance town hall. It was my first time last month to visit this garden. I was amazed how they maintain and keep those roses healthy and full of blooms. I believed most of the roses there are in full blast right now. I am questioning if they are using hydroponic systems to keep those roses healthy. They also have some plants in this garden. It is my first time to hear about hydroponic systems and now I have a little idea what is this. I hope to also apply it in our garden. The roses in our garden are in full bloom right now, so as the roses in the garden in Neumarkt. This garden is located near the hospital. They also have a lot of varieties or roses in this garden. I hope to visit it again next week.

The Beautiful Church in Hohenfels, Bavaria

One of the best things I love in Europe especially in Germany are the beautiful and historical architecture like churches, buildings and monuments. It is about Germany's Football Team whom I thought to win the game against Spain. Sad to say, Spain is very better as Germany. German's players were not so good last night. I though they will win because they played good against England and Argentina. I believed games and sports are like that. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win and if you lose you will never have a reward card. lol! I read in news online that each player from Germany garnered a hundred thousand Euro reward after winning against Argentina. At least, they tried their best to be in the second finals. I hope that they will win the game against Uruguay this weekend for the third place in the World Cup. Good luck Germany!

Germany Will Win in the Football World Cup in Africa

You might be surprised with my title but that's how I see and feel it. Germany will win the Football World Cup in Africa. Tonight at around 8:30 PM, Spain and Germany will play for the finals. I am quite excited to see Germany's Football Team to win and fight against Netherlands for the finals. Finally, Germany will also win and will be the World Cup champion.

I also read a news this afternoon in yahoo telling that Germany will win in the finals. Here is the excerpts of that news. This was in German and I use Google translation to have it in English.

GO GERMANY! I also have a feeling that you will be the champion! lol!

World Cup 2010 - Title formula : Germany World Champions!

Euro Sport - Wed 07.Jul . 13:32:00 2010

A few hours before the semifinal against Spain the German national team mathematical certainty : You will be world champion. South African statisticians provide in the newspaper " The Times " the evidence. Because: Brazil won the 1994 and 1970 titles, 1994 + 1970 3964th.

Argentina in 1978 and 1986 world champion, 1978 + 1986, 3964th Germany was 1974 and 1990 WMCup in the amount of hold , + 1990, 1974 3964th Brazil finally triumphed in 1962 and 2002 also makes the sum of the years back 3964th That leaves the bill 3964 minus 2010 : 1954. Hubby reminded me to search supplements for weight loss online. He asked when can I start losing weight this summer. He even suggested if I would like to go to the gym. Have a great weekend to all. More updates to come next time. I am very sleepy now. I heard over the radio that the temperature outside reached 35 degrees centigrade. It is truly summer time! I also heard over the radio that the new President of Germany , Christian Wulff had sworn to office in Bellevue Palace in Berlin. It means that starting today July 2, 2010, he is now the official president of Germany.

Now is summer season in Germany. I heard from some friends that some people in this country are having depressions especially during cold winter time. I am thankful that I don't have problems like that. I also read online that there are natural treatments for depression. Having this kind of disorder can be very sad sometimes. Some are undergoing therapy to get rid of this kind of sickness. If you are experiencing this, I believed that it is better to consult the experts regarding the cure and remedy of depression.

Velburg in the Oberpfalz Celebrates its 600th Foundtion Anniversary

Velburg, a town in the Oberpfalz or Upper Palatinate in Bavaria, Germany celebrates its 600th Foundation Anniversary. It was a three-day free program from June 25-27, 2010. We witnessed the historical parade last June 27 which started at 2:00PM. It was truly a spectacle seeing participants of the the Festzug or festival parade wearing different and colourful costumes and dresses during the Medieval time. Around the old town were also full of festive motives varying from tents to old beer gardens, shows and a lot more.

Here are some of the photographs I took during our visit last Sunday.

the Festdamen including children are wearing costumes during the Medieval times.

Horsemen from the nearby towns and villages also attended the parade.

the can see the old and historical town hall of Velburg at the background.

Weather Update in Bavaria

It is another hot day today in our place and maybe the whole of Germany. I just look what temperature we are having right now inside our house especially on the second floor and it is 21 degrees centigrade. Outside is even hotter probably around 29 to 30 degrees C. I would like to go walking but with this hot temperature outside, I don't want to have sunburns. I wish to lose weight this summer when I can and I do always try. Are you the same? We can probably click here together to find it out. I started to gain weight since I live in Germany for seven years now. In fact on July 8, I will be exactly 7 years in Germany. More updates later. Have a great sunny day from Germany!

Christian Wulff, The New President of Germany

Last Wednesday was the election of the new Bundespräsident or President of the Federal State of Germany. According to the knowledge I gained as I visited the German Integration Course, wherein you learn basically German language and the history, culture and tradition, people, politics and basic laws about Germany, the President of Germany is elected not from the common people but from some elite politicians and selected famous, rich and prominent people of Germany. I was amazed that unlike in the Philippines wherein the President has the power over the governance of the land, Germany's President is not.

After the third voting last Wednesday, Christian Wulff finally has the Mehrheit or the majority of the votes. He garnered 600 Stimmen or votes during the first vote, 615 votes during the second and finally on the third voting he had 625 votes which made him the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. I would to share next time the power and duties of the Bundespräsident of Germany.

Here are of the personal and political information of the new President of Germany.

Christian Wilhelm Walter Wulff (born 19 June 1959) is a German politician of the conservative Christian Democratic Union. He was elected President of Germany on 30 June 2010[ and sworn in on 2 July. A lawyer by profession, he served as Prime Minister of the state of Lower Saxony between 2003 and 2010.

Early life and education

Wulff was born in Osnabrück and is Roman Catholic. His father left the family, and he grew up with his mother. As a teenager, he had to take responsibility for the care of his younger sister, after his mother developed multiple sclerosis.[4] After completing his Abitur at the Ernst Moritz Arndt Gymnasium in Osnabrück, Wulff went to study law with a specialisation in economics at the University of Osnabrück. In 1987 and 1990, he passed the first and second state examinations in law, and has since worked as an attorney.

POLITICAL CAREER

Since 1975, Wulff has been a member of the CDU. From 1978 to 1980, he served as federal chairman of the Schülerunion, a political high school student organization affiliated with the Christian Democrats. From 1979 to 1983, he was on the executive board of the Junge Union and became its regional chairman in Lower Saxony in 1983. However, he decided to resign from the board in order to pursue his law degree, which he completed in 1986. The same year, he was elected a city councillor in his hometown. Since 1984, he has sat on the CDU's regional party council of Lower Saxony, serving as its chairman since 1994.

The Christian Democrats made Wulff candidate for state Premier in the run-up of the 1994 Legislative Assembly elections. However, the popular incumbent Gerhard Schröder won and secured an absolute majority in the Lower Saxony legislature, leading some observers to doubt the wisdom of the provincial party nominating a young and neophyte candidate for Premier. After four years in opposition, the 1998 legislative assembly election brought another opportunity for Wulff to become Prime Minister. Indeed, the federal Christian Democrat party, led by Chancellor Helmut Kohl, pinned their hopes on Wulff – a Wulff victory would have stopped the inevitable rise of Schröder to the Social Democrat nomination for Chancellor. However, supported by a wave of sympathy for his candidacy for chancellor in the 1998 federal election, Schröder was returned to power by an enhanced majority – leaving Wulff to serve five more years as provincial leader of the opposition.more infos here

It is Truly Summer in Germany!

It is finally summer time in Germany. If I am not mistaken summer season in Germany officially started last June 21. The past two weeks, we truly had a nice and sunny weather. Today was also quite a hot day as I went shopping. I was so thirsty that I stopped in a grocery shop in Burglengenfeld. I also went to a hardware store and found a slideshow on screen of some of their products. Summer is also the time to go for swimming. A friend left a comment in facebook that we will go swimming anytime. I told her to come to our house anytime and we will drive in the nearest swimming pool. I hope next week she is coming. Enjoy the summer season in Germany if you are here!

Neumarkt i.d. I would love too but I guess most historical cars are very expensive now especially in Germany.
I thought I can only see these old cars in movies and pictures but I had truly seen them last month.

what a cute car is this! I hope you had a great month of June. This is quite a very busy month of us. Back to my main topic! Have you heard about buy with no VAT anywhere in Europe or maybe in Germany or England in particular? I was looking some old receipts tonight and found out that in Germany Value Added tax or simply VAT for non-food items is 19%. Food items are levied at 7% VAT. Don't you know that you can also buy with no VAT online especially if you are living in the UK. If you are looking for nutritional and supplement products, you can simply visit the site of Vitasunn and buy with no VAT. I am not quite sure if it also apply to residents of Germany. I need to search more. More updates next time. I wish you another wonderful month of July.

Travel and Explore Passau in Bavaria, Germany

Passau is a town in Lower Bavaria, Germany. It is known as the Dreiflüssestadt or the City of Three Rivers. The Danube is joined there by the Inn from the South, and the Ilz coming out of the Bavarian Forest to the North. This town is full of history and interesting sights like the St. Stephen's Cathedral, Veste Oberhaus and some museums and other architecture. It is renowned in Germany for its institutes of Economics, Law, Theology, Computer Sciences and Cultural Science. Here are some of the pictures I took during our visit last November 2009.

The Veste Oberhaus on top of the hill and the boat where you can go cruising in Passau and other nearby towns and cities.

One of the churches in Passau. I always agree with this. I feel like always being entertained every time I travel. That is probably the reason why I always love to travel when finances are available. If I don't travel I also find time to entertainment myself at home. Thanks to computers and internet where we can already find a lot of games and entertainment online. Have you tried to visit a site where you can play Track and field game online? Actually, I visited this site last Monday and was quite curious about it. I also read that it is absolutely free to join Maxithlon.

They claimed to be the first online manager game wherein you can manage a track and field club. It is also available in 20 languages which I found to be of great advantage especially for players who cannot speak and understand English language. I also read on their site that users of more than 45 countries are playing the game. This is quite interesting. I am a track and field player during my school days. I guess joining this online game might be a very good source of entertainment at home. I guess being a manager of this track and field game is also a very interesting role because you have to train your athletes to be good players to compete locally, nationally and internationally. It is better for you to visit and see the site itself especially if you love track and field game. I guess you have an idea now how to entertain yourself at the comfort of your home. Have fun!
