The Hofgarten in Bayreuth, Bavaria

I was trying to find some pictures of some of my previous trips in Germany. When I was browsing my external hard drive, I found some images taken in Bayreuth, a city in the Franconian part of Bavaria in Germany. One of the sights we visited was the Hofgarten of the Neues Schloss (New Castle). It is actually the Castle's Garden in Bayreuth just located near to the downtown. We had a stroll there last summer 2009.

The flowers and trees during summer season provide some nice scenes and cooling shadows, thus perfect during hot summer. Take time to visit this place when you are in Bayreuth.

some of the beautiful landscapes in the Hofgarten or Castle's Garden...located just at the back of the New Castle.

you can also find statues around the garden park.

The Neues Schloss (New Palace) in Bayreuth, Germany

It is almost two years now since we visited Bayreuth, a town in the northern part of Bavaria. One of the sights we visited was the New Palace, called in Germany as the Neues Schloss which has a beautiful court garden. It was the seat of the margraves from 1753

We don't have the chance to go inside the palace because we went to another palace in Bayreuth, the so-called Hermitage.

New Palace (Neues Schloss) during our visit last August 2010.

After the Old Palace burned down, the new town residence for Margrave Friedrich von Brandenburg-Bayreuth was begun by Joseph Saint-Pierre in 1753. Margravine Wilhelmine had considerable influence on its final form, designing some of the rooms herself, including the Cabinet of Fragmented Mirrors and the Old Music Room with its pastel portraits of singers, actors and dancers. schloesser.bayern

The New Palace in Bayreuth, Bavaria

It's been almost a year since now we visited Bayreuth. It is a city in northern Bavaria, Germany, on the Red Main river in a valley between the Frankish Alb and the Fichtelgebirge. We visited some of their sights. One of the sights we visited is the New Castle or the Neues Schloss as it is called in German language. It was a whole day walk around the old city and around the New Castle. It was quite a tiring but very wonderful day. I am sharing some of the pictures I took before searching for apidexin reviews. The first picture is the New Palace in Bayreuth which houses the Bayreuth Fayences Museum - The Rummel Collection, "Bayreuth of the Margravine Wilhelmine" museum and the " Galli Bibiena Exhibition". If I am not mistaken the second one was taken at the back of the castle where the Royal Garden is located. You can also see fountains from both pictures. I was trying to find the name of the fountains but to no success. I guess I just need more time. Have fun watching the pictures. Please also the tourist information in Bayreuth at the bottom of this post.

I am taking a pose below. Hubby took that picture. Feel free to make it bigger.

Residence of the Margraves, Margrave Friedrich and the Prussian Princess Wilhelmine, sister of Frederick the Great, who were the dominating figures in 18th century Bayreuth. The New Palace was built in just two years (1753-1754), by the renowned French builder Saint-Pierre. Showpieces of the Palace are the Garden Rooms, the Cedar Room, the Music Room and the famous Cabinet of Fragmented Mirrors.

New Palace of the Eremitage in Bayreuth, Germany

I am sharing another snapshot from Bayreuth. The background you see is the New castle of the Eremitage or Hermitage with the Temple of the Sun. This place is being use now for small concerts and exhibitions. Small lectures, seminars and civil weddings are also held here.

My highlight this afternoon is about sleeping pill. The night before we visited Bayreuth last August 2009, I was quite excited that I was not able to sleep well. I guess it was due to excitement that caused my sleeplessness. For those people who really have problems with sleeping, I suggest you better visit your doctor for proper prescription of sleeping pills. That's all for now.

Sightseeing at The Hofgarten in Bayreuth

I love this place here! We had a chance to visit the Hofgarten in Bayreuth. It is called in English as Bayreuth Court Garden. This place is very interesting. You can go walking around and enjoy the nature and scenery. Below is one of the pictures that HB took of me. You can also find a little information about this garden below.
that's me taking a pose at the garden. thanks to dear HB for taking the picture.

After the internal link New Palace was built, the garden, which had been margravial property since the end of the 16th century, was redesigned and extended: south of the pall mall alley dating from 1679, which was included in the new garden, Friedrich and Wilhelmine von Brandenburg added avenues, hedge gardens, pergolas and parterres. The central axis was a canal with a right-angled bend and four islands.

At the end of the 18th century, the Court Garden was transformed into an English-style park with winding paths and natural stands of trees. However, the basic features of the geometric garden can still be seen: the park is dominated by the canal and the three main avenues and in 1990 the parterre in front of the south wing was also reconstructed.

The New Castle in Bayreuth, Bavaria

I got my first entry for the month of November. I can't think of what to share tonight. I am quite tired already after having some migraine. In my background is the the New Castle in Bayreuth, Bavaria. It is one of the main sights in this city and known to be the seat of the margraves from 1753 on. I guess that's all for now. More updates in my other sites.

Residenz or Palace in Bayreuth, Bavaria

There are a lot of things that my mind is occupying right now. I can't remember anymore this building in Bayreuth. After reading the city map and places of interest in this city, I finally remembered it. This is the Bayreuth Residenz or Residence, also known as palace which is the home of Margraves in Bayreuth during those times. You can also see the basin which has a fountain in the court garden of Bayreuth. This place is quite interesting. We see people who just enjoyed sitting in the banks located on both sides of this basin. That was a nice trip in Bayreuth last August.

Travel and Explore The Roman Theatre in Eremitage Castle in Bayreuth

I won't stay too long now. I am quite sleepy and want to have a beauty rest in some minutes..wink! I already shared some photos of Eremitage Castle in Bayreuth in this site and in my other sites. I am only sharing this photo of the Roman Theatre in Eremitage Castle. Here is a short story for this below.

"The well-educated Margravine Wilhelmine love antiquity and brought home unforgettable impressions from her long visit to Italy. That's also why she wanted to have a roman theatre. This unique theatre with its remarkable arches was built as a theatre in ruins and still there are performances in the summer months."

Travel and Explore Eremitage in Bayreuth, Bavaria

This is in connection to my previous post about our sightseeing in Bayreuth last Saturday, August 22, 2009. One of the palaces we visited there is Eremitage. This palace is one of the greatest historical architecture in Bayreuth and considered to be one of the best sights in this city. It also has beautiful parks and garden. Eremitage is consists of two palaces which is the Alte Schloss or Old Palace and the Neue Schloss also called in English as New Palace.

The Old Castle which you can see in the picture below had been built by Margrave Georg Wilhelm, 1715-1718, (two generations before Margravine Wilhelmine). Georg Wilhem wish to find here in this seclusion the way to wisdom and knowledge.

I hope to share more photos next time!
the front of the Old Castle and the fountain..I love their gardens here. Sometimes I dream that I once lived before in a castle...wink! That is probably the reason why I always love to visit palaces and castles...i'm only dreaming!

Travel and Explore Bayreuth in Northern Bavaria, Germany

We finally had the chance to visit the capital of Upper Franconia which is Bayreuth. It is a city in northern part of Bavaria, Germany and is around two hours drive from our place. The city is best notable for its association with the famous composer named Richard Wagner. I hope I can give you more information about this famous composer in my next posts. We also visited some historical monuments and buildings in this city like palaces, gardens and churches. That was another memorable trip yesterday. I have to find now what does it means for an extended service plan for insurance. For now, I want to share these photos below from yesterday's sightseeing. I also wish to give you more information about Bayreuth in a couple of days. Have a wonderful week ahead.
