We visited Berching for the third time yesterday. It is a walled-town in the district of Neumarkt in Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. It is a small but beautiful town with a lot of historical attractions like the one you see in the picture here. I haven't uploaded yet the other pictures I took yesterday. I wish to turn some pictures into color printing next time. Berching is situated on the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal, 20 km south of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz or Upper Palatinate. The Altstadt or old city is surrounded by large wall with towers in between.

I went to this place with my husband last April, 2008. One thing I really admired about Germany is how they preserved their history, old buildings like churches and museums, culture and traditions and a lot more..Berching is also also called an eight-gated city..In fact this city is surrounded by walls....It's really amazing how you can see the remnants of history in this place...

guess that all for now...keep coming back to know more about Germany. I also want to let you know that Germany is very cold during winter time. HB said that the weather this month is reaching until -20 degree centigrade during the night. That is maybe one reason why he is experiencing pain in his leg. Is it called rheumatoid arthritis? I hope not.
