Successful Birthday Celebration in Hemau

It was so far a wonderful weekend last week. Although the weather was still quite cold, it did not hindered the success of the party. We attended a birthday celebration in Hemau and it was truly a blast! Everyone enjoyed it.

Some friends brought some birthday presents. I am not quite sure if somebody gave certified Kosher gifts. Some friends gave some wines and alcoholic drinks. A lot of Filipino foods and delicacies were also served. The fun in karaoke singing during a Filipino party is always present. I admired the singers with superb voice that night and of course including those who tried to share their songs for the birthday celebrant.

I guess the highlight of the party was the night-out we had in Funpark in Regensburg! It was truly an enjoyable evening!

How would your love to eat all these sumptuous foods here!

3 Days To Valentine!s Day

I remember some friends and schoolmates during high school and college days. They used to say that if you haven't got a boyfriend or girlfriend yet, you will be in the list of firing squad on Valentine's Day. Do you believe in it guys especially the single ones who haven't got any boyfriend or girlfriend? I'm out of this question because I am already taken. To all the boys who are still looking for personalized gifts for girls this coming Valentine's day, I hope you already found one for your special someone. If not, you still have three more days to find that special unique gift.

I will see what hubby got for me this time. He said that he drove somewhere today to buy me a heart's day present. I am not really expecting one but I'll see if he really got one for me. I wish everyone in advance a happy Valentine's day. Have fun but be safe!

Happy Holidays!

HAVE A BLESSED AND PEACEFUL CELEBRATION
OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL!

EIN GESEGNETES WEINACHSFEST
UND EIN FRIEDVOLLES JAHR 2012
IN GLÜCK, GESUNDHEIT UND ZUFRIEDENHEIT!

Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself...

Graduation Party Was A Success

I am happy for my friends whose daughters successfully graduated in high school. They attended high school in a U.S. Army Base in Hohenfels. They had their graduation ceremony last June 10, 2011 in Amberg. Yesterday my two friends had a graduation party for their daughters. As usual cupcakes delivered on time was the highlight. There were a lot of food again. Other desserts such as fruit cake, madeline cookies, leche flan, rice cake, brownies and chiffon cake were prepared on the table. Adobo, Menudo, Caldereta, Pancit, Eggroll, Pancit Palabok, Ribs and chicken barbeque, sweet and sour pork, were among the Filipino food that were prepared. German and American foods were also present. I believed most of the people who attended the party were happy and contented especially that there were delicious and sumptuous food that were served.

Congratulations to Kim and Carissa for the success. Best wishes and good luck in your future endeavors!

Gäubodenvolksfest in Straubing, Bavaria

Bavaria, one of the sixteen states of Germany, is never a boring region. There are always these so called "Volksfest" or festivals everywhere from small villages up to its big cities. The second largest folk festival in Bavaria, the Gäubodenvolksfest, is celebrated every year in Straubing. It is only second to Munich's Oktoberfest.

The Gäubodenvolksfest was founded by Maximilian I Joseph, King of Bavaria in the year 1812 as an agricultural festival to organize an annual meeting of the people in the Danube region.

I visited this festival last 2009 and I found it very interesting. I wanted to go back there last year but I was away for a Europe tour. Hopefully this year, I can visit it again.

There are always a lot of attractions and carnival rides during this festival. The Olympia Looping which is the biggest moveable roller coaster of the world with five loopings, the Wilde Maus, Feuer und Eis (Fire and Ice), Bumper car, Bavarian Big Wheel (a Ferris wheel), Transformer, Whitewater channel, are only some of its rides and attractions.

Always remember that in every festival in Germany, beer is always a part of it especially in Bavaria. It is always a part of any German fair and celebration. This year's Gäubodenvolksfest will takes place from August 12 to August 22.

Here are some of the images I took during our visit last August 2009.

the Bavarian wheel.

I was amazed seeing more people who are wearing Trachten, the Dirndl and Lederhose during the Gäubodenvolksfest than in Oktoberfest.

The Venetian Fair in Nuremberg

I told hubby that we must go to Nuremberg that day because there will be a Venetian parade wherein participants will be wearing masks like the ones in Venice Masquerade festival every March. Hubby hesitated for the first time but I told him that I will go alone if he's not going with me. I finally convinced him to go with me last Mother's day.

I really expected a long parade but it was not. Probably there were only around 50 participants but it was worth it. Their costumes were beautiful and very interesting like what you see in the images I took below. During that time they also have Venetian Market in the Altstadt or Old City. You can go shopping for some Italian products and delicacies. Overall, it was nice trip.

Party Time in Grossbissendorf

How your weekend folks? I hope you had a great one. Yes, I did! We went to a party yesterday in Grossbissendorf and it was great. It was also like a get-together with friends. As usual, there were a lot of foods again. I forgot my diet plan after seeing those sumptuous and delicious foods on the table.

For friends out there who are looking for some information about creatine powder, you can see a lot in the net.

I truly had a wonderful time with friends yesterday and today. In fact, there was an after-shock today. We met again to eat the left-overs. That is always Filipino party, a lot of food and fun time with friends.
I am quite tired and sleepy now. I need to sign-off earlier to give you more updates tomorrow. Have a great week everyone!

600th Founding Anniversary of Velburg in Bavaria, Germany

Last June 2010, Velburg, a municipality in Neumarkt Upper Palatinate in Bavaria, Germany celebrated its 600th founding anniversary. One of the highlights of the celebration was a Medieval parade around the old town. It was a very interesting event we had witnessed last year.

Below are some snapshots I took from the parade.

there were a lot of horses with carriages who participated during the Medieval parade last June 2010. That building you see with a big watch is the town hall of Velburg.

colourful costumes with different styles and motives were worn by participants during the Medieval parade. It is once in a life time to attend such celebration. I felt honoured to be there and was able to witness it.
